When it comes to fashion, Jennifer Lopez doesn’t play by the rules.
The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer embraced high-low style on a recent outing in New York City, where she paired some of her favorite (yet slightly contradictory) wardrobe staples together.
It isn’t a J.Lo street-style moment unless she’s armed with one of her trusty Hermès Birkin bags, and she delivered on that via a large black purse with gold hardware—a coveted style that some e-commerce sites sell for as much as $40,000.
The superstar counterbalanced the luxurious price tag of her purse with the rest of her outfit, which consisted of casual pieces like a speckled beige sweater, featuring outer stitch details and ribbing along the edges, and a pair of ultra-baggy, dirt-smudged jeans. But it wasn’t just any old pair of distressed jeans: Lopez’s bottoms hailed from Acne Studios and currently retail online for $750.
To complete the ensemble, Lopez added platform suede combat boots from R13, oversize shield sunglasses with a blue-to-orange gradient tint, and a set of shiny gold hoop earrings.

Lopez seems to have an affinity for this particular outfit combo, having ventured out on a number of recent occasions in a similar silhouette.
For instance, she stepped out last week wearing massively oversize denim jeans from Gucci, which she styled with a plain cream turtleneck and white sneakers. Prior to that, she re-wore the same Gucci jeans with two different ribbed turtlenecks, first appearing in a cropped green sweater before swapping out the top for a bodycon Intimissimi piece. As for her shoes, she once again flaunted her love of towering footwear via platform Uggs.

Offline, she’s probably spending too much time on TikTok, rewatching Emma (the 2020 version, of course), or buying yet another corset.
